TOCFL Test Regulations (2024 September)
Online Registration
- Headshot Requirements: Upload a headshot taken within the last six months with a light-colored background, clear and unobstructed facial features, and a frontal view. Once approved, it cannot be changed.
- Payment: Complete payment within three days of registration to avoid invalidation.
Prior to the Test
- ID Verification: Bring your original passport or ARC. Ensure the information matches your registration details.
- Valuables: Do not bring valuables; the test room is not responsible for them.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time. Latecomers (over 20 minutes) will not be admitted.
- Electronic Devices: Ensure all electronic devices are turned off. If any device makes a sound, your score will be reduced by 10%.
- Permitted Items: Only ID, pens, and note paper provided by the test center are allowed on the desk.
- Prohibited Items: No metal or electronic devices are allowed. Cooperate with metal scanning.
- Violation Consequences: Registration will be revoked with no rescheduling or refunds in cases such as:
- Not bringing required IDs.
- ID discrepancies.
- Late arrival (over 20 minutes).
- Bringing prohibited items.
- Non-cooperation during scanning.
- Smoking, eating, or gum chewing in the test room.
During the Test
- ID Placement: Place your ID on the desk and check the accuracy of personal information on test documents.
- Breaks: No breaks are allowed. If you leave during the listening test, you cannot re-enter. Restroom breaks are allowed during the reading test video but must be within the allotted time.
- Violations Leading to Score Invalidity:
- Difficulty in verifying ID.
- Devices emitting sounds or vibrations.
- Disruptive behavior or accessing non-test content.
- Non-compliance with proctor instructions.
- Serious Violations (Two-Year Ban and Possible Legal Action):
- Impersonation.
- Bringing cheat sheets or marking related symbols.
- Reproducing test content or communicating results.
- Any other form of cheating or malicious behavior.
- System Issues: If the test is interrupted by network or computer malfunctions, notify the proctor immediately. The test will resume without affecting the score. No retests or refunds will be provided.
- Emergencies: Follow proctor instructions during emergencies (e.g., earthquakes, fires). SC-TOP will reschedule the test if necessary. Refunds are available for those unable to attend the rescheduled test.
- Special Needs: Inform the proctor immediately if any issues or special needs arise.
After the Test
- Scores: The test score will be displayed immediately after the test. The official score and level will be announced on the TOCFL Online Registration System.
- Note Paper: Return the note paper and leave the test room immediately. Avoid lingering or speaking loudly near the test room.
- Legal Rights: SC-TOP reserves the right to the final interpretation of the test regulations and the right to legal action. Any disputes will be under the jurisdiction of Taipei District Court.
